An island that will win you over in every way. The dream weather (air temperature 30 oC and water temperature 27oC) leaves nothing to be desired. The friendliest people in the world live on Barbados. It’s an ideal mixture of Caribbean lifestyle and surf experience and everything that goes with it. Unique nightlife with open-air bars and live bands make for extensive partying. The wonderful beaches are perfect for chilling and the glass-clear waves for surfing. The island has 360 degree swell window, which means there are optimal surf conditions on every side of the island.  The east coast is rugged – here there are large waves and a world famous spot by the name of ‘Soupbowl’. The eleven times world champion Kelly Slater had an unforgettable surf session there and counts those waves among the best in the world! To the south there are mellow pointbreaks, which are ideal for beginners and intermediate. Who wouldn’t want to surf through waves with an average temperature of 27 oC? The west coast is great when the waves are rolling in from the depths of the north atlantic. On this side of the island there is always an offshore wind which forms the waves beautifully. Here there are the most reefbreaks for different skill levels. To the north there is a spot, which is more for ‘big-wave fans’… a wave that can roll long and high. To reach the water, you must first walk through a small tropical forest where the monkeys watch you pass by! This spot is more for the braver, wilder surfer with a lot of experience.
The best waves in Barbados come in the winter, between October and April. The summer months bring smaller waves but with the Passat winds there are still always wind waves of between 3-5 feet, which are also great for surfing.
